Turner's Best Porcelain 9
The secret is in the kaolin which comes from England. Only the finest ingredients
will suffice for this incredible porcelain which fires to cone 9. Not only
is it "user-friendly" but also is prized for its pure white color
which is usually sacrificed for more plastic throwing bodies. |

Mary's Porcelain 5
This body fires slightly gray-white at cone 6 oxidation. It is a smooth,
robust, plastic body for throwing and handbuilding, and is easy to trim
and dry. All three of our porcelains throw so well you will be surprised
(it is very similar to throwing a good stoneware). |

Maccabee Mix 5
Not easy to classify, this clay has characteristics of Stoneware and Porcelain.
This is Axner's Cone 5 version of our cone 10 Maccabee Mix. This
is Axner's response to Laguna's "B" Mix, which is one of the most
popular clay bodies in the United States. It is white and smooth. It is
similar to porcelain but it throws like a dream. Try this remarkable clay.
You are sure to like it!

Norma's Porcelain
This body fires cool white with medium translucency in reduction at cone
10. Originally designed by Harlan House, it is a classic, high-in-Kaolin,
low-in-ball clay, porcelain for throwing and handbuilding. It is particularly
easy to trim and dry and is known as a very trouble-free body. Develops
an extremely wide range of colors in wood fired kilns. This is Axner's most
popular porcelain. All three of our porcelains throw so well you will be
surprised (it is very similar to throwing a good stoneware). |
